Bharatnatyam

One of the oldest classical dance forms originating in Tamil Nadu. Thought to be between 3rd century BC and 3rd century AD. It is always accompanied by classical music. It is thought to be the embodiment of music in visual form, a ceremony, an act of devotion. It originated in temples and of south India and is depicted on the walls. It is currently one of the widest forms of classical Indian dance performed by many dancers around the world.
